Always wash your hands with unscented liquid soap and water before touching your tattoo.
Leave your bandage on for at least two but no longer than 24 hours. tattoo after 2 hours.
After removing your bandage, gently wash the tattoo with unscented liquid soap and hot water. Use only your fingertips, no wash cloths or abrasive materials.
Let your tattoo air dry or pat dry with a paper towel. Once dry, apply a very thin layer of lotion. We recommend Cetaphil or Aveeno.
Was your tattoo 2-3 times daily and apply a thin layer of lotion 3-5 times daily. If your tattoo looks wet or dirty, wash it, let air dry and apply a thin layer of lotion. If the tattoo looks dry or flaky, apply a thin layer of lotion. NEVER use bacitracin or vaseline.
After 3-6 days, your tattoo will start to peel and flake like a sunburn with ink colored skin. This is totally normal. Do not pick or scratch your tattoo
A tattoo typically takes 2-4 weeks and varies from person to person.
Do not soak or submerge your tattoo until it is completely healed. No lakes, pools, hot tubs, baths, etc. Showering is encouraged.
Be mindful of your new tattoo as it is an open would during the healing process.
Do not over apply lotion. This will close off your pores and prevent your tattoo from healing properly. Use a very thin layer of lotion during the healing process.
Never pick or scratch your tattoo during the healing process. This can pull ink out of your skin and you tattoo will require a touch up. Touch up’s required do to improper aftercare are not complimentary.
Avoid direct sun exposure for one month after getting a new tattoo. After the healing process is complete, apply sunscreen with SPF 50+ when in the sun. Sun exposure will fade your tattoo over time.
Listen to your artist’s advice and call or text the studio with any questions. Do not follow aftercare instructions from friends or other internet sites. May products on the market can slow healing and/or promote an allergic reaction.
Contact a healthcare professional at the first sign of infection.
Leave Saniderm on for 3-5 days after your appointment or until the seal around your tattoo breaks.
For large, heavily saturated tattoos, you may need to replace bandage after the first 3-24 hours.
If the bandage is leaking, remove it immediately. If fluid can leak out of your bandage, bacteria can get inside.
Once the bandage is removed you can continue with traditional aftercare methods or apply a new bandage after wishing with unscented soap and allowing your tattoo to dry fully.
To remove your Saniderm, run water over the bandage while slowly pulling it off. Ink often stains the bandage, but it does not pull the color out.
If you notice excessive redness around the bandage, you could have an adhesive sensitivity. While a bit of redness is common with a new tattoo, if the bandage becomes uncomfortable, remove it immediately and follow traditional aftercare methods.

Keep it Clean
Put clean sheets on your bed after getting tattooed. Dirty sheets harbor bacteria. During the healing process, an uncovered tattoo may stain your sheets. You can use dark colored sheets to avoid staining.
Listen to the Artist
Follow the aftercare instructions provided by your artist. Do not follow aftercare from friends or the internet. Many products marketed as tattoo specific and some over the counter products can impede the healing process.

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water when you must touch your new tattoo. A healing tattoo is an open wound, keep it clean and dry.
